3 Easy Heavy Cream Recipes

I usually have three to six cartons of heavy cream in my fridge at all times, and I still worry about running out when I’m doing a batch cooking day! Heavy cream is the superstar of fats that keto kids tend to rely heavily on (no pun intended) — but getting this concentrated form of fat into your keto kid’s diet  is not always easy. Kids of course have a mind of their own about what they will or will not drink, and drinking straight heavy cream can be challenging!  So, here are three easy recipes and hopefully three easy ways to get this important source of fat into your kid.

Tip: Organic heavy creams don’t have antibiotics, hormones or GMO anything’s, plus they contain only cream and no other filler ingredients.

Banana Shake   7.4 : 1

The yummy taste of bananas without the high carbs of an actual banana!

Instructions:

Weigh all ingredients on the gram scale. Mix together. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to a week. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

200g                              Organic Heavy Whipping Cream
4g                                   Truvia
2 to 4 drops                Banana Extract
4  drops                        Yellow food coloring

Instructions:

Whip heavy cream in a Magic Bullet Blender . Here is an instructional video from the Charlie Foundation on how to do it.

Don’t worry about weighing the cream before whipping, that is better to do afterwards, and any leftovers can be stored in the fridge. Add fresh fruit, preferably berries: strawberries, blueberries or raspberries since they are the lowest in carbs. Sprinkle with Truvia (optional).

Ingredients

25g          Whipped Heavy Cream
20g          Fresh berries
.3g           Truvia

Banana Gelatin Molds  4 : 1

Inspired by this Halloween treat! An easy recipe to apply to any holiday. Have fun with different-shaped silicone candy molds.

Instructions:

Spray molds with canola oil. Measure all ingredients on the gram scale. Heat the heavy cream and water in the microwave for 30 second intervals until hot. Quickly stir in the gelatin, truvia and banana extract. A container with a pour spout can help with pouring. Switch out the extract for different flavors!
